Thanked: 480I;m not in the 2 hour zone, but I was planning a trip out that direction in the near future. If you don't have any one on one time set up by then, I will see if I can take a few hours for some assistance.

How about Michael Sorkin? Michael was a bit over an hour away from me and my two trips to his house were priceless for me.

Wow, you guys are the best! Offers to help out a newbie, even chauffeured transport! Doesn't get any better than that. Looks like I'll be heading to Long Island Saturday for some expert teaching. When I get a little honing under my blades and need some help on the finer details I'll be in touch with nicknbleeding who is quite close to me. I don't have a finishing hone yet so when I'm ready to make a choice I'll contact aa1192 to try out his selection and see which I like.
Thanks again guys!

Hi Mikekim,
No doubt Michael is a honemeister. He has helped me many times as well
But the limit was set at two hours and while I can offer an invitation to my house
I can not offer one to Michael's house.
That said you come too
Sam

A HUGE thanks to svcaramia for allowing me to attend his honing get together today, a most gracious host. And a HUGE thanks to Bayamontate and Bill3152 for the personal instruction on honing. It was an amazing time. And it was a pleasure meeting GC7 and Anthony (sorry Anthony, didn't get your SRP name). Thanks again, but I've got to get back to practicing on my hones!

Charlie, It was a pleasure to have you join our small informal group. I'm glad it was of value to you. I hope you can join us again in the future.
You certainly lucked out as having an opportunity to go one-on-one with Nelson and Bill and get their undivided attention is a treasured moment. Plus a free honing or two never hurts.
