    Great pictures and information. I looked at my blade under a 40x loupe I use for looking at coins and relics when metal detecting. Definitely could see the shiny areas. Mine needs to be re-honed with a bevel set for sure. Improper stropping the culprit I suspect. Thanks for sharing.

    Many of my razors looked like Post #3, bevel almost set, but not quite! Saw it after I got my Ralf Aust from SRD and saw that a truly shave ready edge looks like! Been rehoning my razors and making sure the bevel is fully completely set! Big difference in shave quality. Ran out of arm hair to test shave, so I had to move to belly hair

    Great thread onimaru55, just ordered one of those scopes as I'm sure my edges all look like that being such a newb to the honing side of things, might as well try to get it right.

    This will be very interesting, something new to completely obsess over, might be a great way to lose some additional pounds, can imagine spending 6 or 7 day's straight staring into the screen, chasing that perfect edge...
