Mr. Onimaru, out of curiosity, what did you use to get these fantastic closeups?
    Something like this?

Just something I stumbled across when I was looking for the 60x loupe that gets suggested. Fun fact: the local Hobby Lobby maxes out @16x for $15 .

Yes. Mine is the Veho 20-200x. I have tried several of these cheap ones up to 400 x & they were all rubbish with poor optics, difficult to focus & gave fuzzy pics

Some heavy handed stropping damage on a Dovo that was shave ready.

Finally a couple of shave ready Pumas. I have posted these before & one edge looks like it should shave rougher than the other but it does not . They were identically comfortable & this is why the microscope is only good for relative diagnosis.
The shave test will always have the final say.

Very informative pics.....I'm afraid if I had a Veho I would wear a doggy path in the rug from the computer to the kitchen (honing station) with a beard sitting in my lap. Thank-you for posting them.

There is no need. I do all my honing with 8-10x loupes for mag views. The scope is solely for others to see pics.

I have a 200x veho digital scope, another 400x scope, and a 40x loupe. So with the greatest respect, if you were right I'd agree with you.

Your first pic looks out of focus to me which is what I'd expect from most cheap 400x scopes. The second has a lot of reflection & only shows a sillhouette so I can't really discern anything from those pics but as long as your happy with your gear that's the main thing.

Neither image was out of focus. I don't understand why you negative everything. It's a lovely image of a nice edge, yet you put shit on it. Mate you are the one with the problem. You never asked a thing about the photo other than to poo poo it. Members deserve a fair go. You are not entitled to embarrass members.
