I've read that the sic can become embedded in softer stones.
Have you guys found that to be true? In so in what stones ?

Have you ever had that happen? If so what lapping system and what stones?

I caught a rogue diamond in my naniwa 12k when I used to use one from my dmt 325. Bevel wrecker for sure. It was in there man! I had to lap it again to get it out and learned to be very aware and conscious that it could happen. So after lapping I rinse well and use my hands to feel. Theres no school for it though, anything is possible for sure regardless of what you use IMO. Has happened to me once only.

Use loose Silicone Carbide to get to flat with 60 or 80 grit. Once flat you can move up grits quickly to 220, where you switch to Wet and Dry to get to smooth. Wet and Dry or diamond plate will remove any lingering grit. Wash well with soap and water.

GotGrit.com has all you will need. A teaspoon of powder and a squirt of water to a toothpaste consistency, in a cookie sheet to contain the swarf on a flat tile or concrete works well and quick. A teaspoon or two will do a stone.

I use it for hard natural stones, for soft stones or synthetics a diamond plate is easier. CNTG sell a good 140 grit 8X3 plate that gets to flat quick. Finish on a 300 / 600 grit plate.

I used them on my recent Arkansas purchases. The only regret was not finding them a few years back.

Yea, the only way to lap an Ark.
