Next is training : buy a few cheap and ugly razors, and try your hand on them. It takes time to master but it's worth it

Years ago, my Uncle taught me how to use a Straight Razor and how to Strop it, He also taught me how to Hone it, but I never used the straight razor much after that. And basically forgot how. I can Sharpen and Hone a Hunting Knife or a Pocket Knife, so there should not bee too much difference. Then again having problems with my hands going numb all the time from a injury is two strikes already at honing a straight razor and doing it correctly.
