Definitely a valid route that many take but there are many of us that actually enjoy the stones, honing, and yes frustration. A good analogy is that some prefer to take their Harley to a shop to be worked on. Then there are others who wouldn't dream of letting someone else have all the fun. I fall into the second camp. Even if someone offered to fix it for free I would have to politely decline. It's just too much fun getting dirty and greasy and figuring out the puzzle. Same with honing for me. I love the challenge and am a bit sad that it's getting less and less of a challenge every time. Luckily there are still a few that make me think.
