Thanked: 237shout out to cudarunner!
It's a bit of a delay, but I'm a college student and I've been really busy recently. Cudarunner contacted me after reading some of my posts. He offered to hone some razors to let me see what other edges are like compared to my own. I have been honing for over a year now, and get really good edges, for the most part. I read a thread a while ago that he had honed a friodur for majorethanol, can't remember if that correct but definitely close. So I have 2 friodurs that I know should be sweet shavers, but just wasn't getting comfortable shaves. So those two, along with a pair of bokers that were being very stubborn as well, we're sent off to the west coast for some cudarunner love. The result is outstanding! The little bokers are tiny, and not my first choice in style of razor, but boy do they shave like champs now! Big shout out to cudarunner, and anyone looking for quality honing services should contact him, especially veterans! Here's a poorly lighted pic of all 4 razors.

Thanked: 1184Funny thing about those little guys. Nobodies preferred size but they always shave great. Cuda did you a big favor raising the bar eh ?
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Did you learn what he did different so you can do it in the future?
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one

I'm so very glad that you enjoyed my work on your razors. It really was my privilege. I was raised to take Pride In My Work and I try to do that no matter what endeavor I do.
As you posted we can 'talk' about what I did and perhaps after that I can post my 'secrets' which aren't any 'Secrets At All' just patience and some basic hones and no 'Magic Potions' such as pasted strops etc.
Again, I'm glad that you liked my work. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

you had a great guy help you out in Roy. now that you know how well a razor shaves with the right guy on the hones , who said you need to have his secrets? I,m 2 years into this and I still don't hone , I get the best shaves and no frustration and always great shaves from thousands of dollars worth of hones at a small price per razor !!! and Roy has honed a few for me , and he does a great job on them ,plus hes a pretty nice guy tc

A very kind gesture from Roy a true gentleman.
