This is exactly what I've been looking for. I've got everything from magnifying glasses on up to USB scope and this one works best for me in most cases- that is, a quick look.

The MicroBrite is is like my 25 year old Radio Shack 30x but much improved- instead of the harsh incandescent light it has a soft LED. The focus is smooth enough to adjust while viewing. The zoom is great. The view is larger and crystal clear. I left the plastic base on- let the back of the base rest on the spine and the front part of the base rest on the bevel - this way I can hold a razor in one hand and the scope in the other and slide it up and down. When you get to either end one side of the base will be unsupported but with a little practice its no big deal.

Just make sure you get the one exactly as shown in OP with AA battery.

How is this one on batteries? I have a radio shack 60- 100 that looks like this, but it eats batteries.

    I'm jealous, mine's only 20-40x zoom.

13.00, can't beat the price and quality. I have need of another micro scope, had the radio shack unit, was worthless junk.
The Best deal around was an surplus industrial inspection scope, for razor inspection can go to 600 power, lots of room to move items under the lens, price was 180.00 and shipping.

Batteries one of the main things- the 60-120X model shown in OP uses (1) standard double A, not some expensive hearing aid battery...
