Thanked: 4830So if I understand the process correctly. You have one side of the hone lapped coarsely and the other side with a fine finish?
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 66That's is correct, in my case both sides were lapped and smoothed (Dressed) to the same level, but the side that I used the diamond plate to slurry automatically got coarser as the diamond plate lift it grit scratches on it, plus the slurry boosted the cutting speed for setting the bevel, then I used to other smooth side to finish the blade, however I wished I have diluted the slurry gradually to decrease the amount of time that took me to finish the blade.
