Not too glamorous, but a really old Solingen and Sheffield on to a fresh-lapped Norton 4/8 after an extensive bevel-set on the old reground Sheffield.
Gonna be good! :)

A Tally Ho razor at a little over 7/8 finished on a Belgian hone (les lat?) with similar slurry stone makes a keen edge.
I don’t have a lot of stones - a diamond plate 1k, a Norton 4K/8K a combination coticule that I’m still trying to figure out and two finishers: an Oozuko and a Vermio. I can shave off the norton 8k and it has proven to be a real workhorse stone for me. I don’t think I will replace it in my lifetime.
Indeed, there are other things for midrange which can take up an entire shelf.
Began on barber hones and went to the Nortons. The 1k is long donated to a newer guy and a faster Chosera installed.
After sampling other things, I have stuck with it. Virtually no maintenance. It lives in the water.
Hey! It works! :D

A restored Wade & Butcher touchup on a light green Thuri
The 1k green Chosera and a 600 Naniwa slurry stone (for the big jobs) is tough to beat, IMO.
I've had quite a few razors in this week although I have only managed to snap these 3, one of them was a very interesting Sheffield Rogers stubtail one hefty wedge of a blade in for honing plus change of scales.
