My knife-maker friend hates what he calls "drawer queens," and I agree. I will happily give (or sell for a modest price) a nice straight to a guy I think will use it, but as you guys say, these are tools designed to be used. Especially if one can acquire a fine vintage tool like your Mappin and Webbs or similar, my opinion is that the lucky purchaser is virtually required to use it at least occasionally!
