    Yes me too, you are correct, good observation. You could shave off the first coticule pictured. You could shave even better off the second coticule pictured. The Y/G Thuri is an awesome edge for shaving. The little gray stone w/oil is off the charts if used correctly. Not many blades can take it.

    Much depends on the razor steel quality, grind and temper. When honing razors for others it is imperative that the end user can maintain the longevity of the edge. It does no good to hone a razor and have the edge crumble after the first few stropping sessions. Knowing how far you can refine the edge requires practice. Knowing when to STOP honing is just as important a skill to learn.
