Thanked: 202Just to rub it in. Soon you will see another Charnley which I got for a friend of mine who got me interested in them. That one makes me jealous.

FWIW, I lapped my two with a DMT D8C (325 grit) and it wasn't terribly difficult. So the equivalent in wet/dry sandpaper ought to do you fine.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 202It looks like I will have to take about 5mm off. It looks that previous user used it only for one way stroke. Thank for the tip

Thanked: 0What do you mean about fast or slow with the Charnley Forest stone?? Do you mean 200 laps or 500 or 1.000 or what, please? What ist fast in your opinion, please? 5 laps on each side or 10 or 20 or 50 or what, please? Greetings from Germany. Oldshaver

Thanked: 202More laps slower the stone. SF is slow stone. Even slower with oil. 200 laps is not unusual but each stone is a bit different.
