Thread: Question for Lynn or whoever knows

There's no harm in using a layer of tape, even if Lynn didn't use tape when he honed it. No harm the other way around either, except it won't get sharper without a bit of work. I think Gssixgun in one of his videos shows that it's about 20 round trips on a 4K hone to set the razor back to no tape from a taped spine.... or at least that's what I seem to recall.

OK. Problem solved. In case anyone ever asks again, Lynn says that when honing new razors he does NOT tape the spine.
