    Cover the gold with tape and polish the rest of the blade. Then do as substance said. Should make a nice shaver.

    I dislike the term breadknife.
    99% of the time its not needed.

    Like Substance said, go at a 45°angle and work the chips out.

    If it were mine i would breadknife the heel then use about 3 layers of tape to work the chip out of the blade honing as usual then remove the tape and retape with one layer and set the bevel. Each has there own way.

    I agree those look like they would come out with the razor at a 45 instead of a true 90 degree "breadknife" grinding. Either way will work..just how long it takes you to get it there. I like to go the least aggressive route and evaluate. If it isn't getting it done then think about something else.
