It means the bevel is not set. You have been applying way to much pressure on the spine and thus the results you are seeing.
If you want to learn honing, find a member close to you to go get some one on one lessons. Get a cheap beater razor to practice with so you do not wreck your nice future razors. Get some razors pro honed to have something to shave with while you are learning.

I am also guessing you are using a ton too much pressure in all the wrong places & maybe with both hands but I did the same thing as a newb.
The upside is you can learn quicker than I did if you listen to the advice already given.

Wow that is a lot of hone wear Glen is a great guy, you need to take him up on the offer because he is one of only a handful of people that can get that razor possibly shaving!

Welcome to the forum by the way! You should check out the beginner section, we were all starting out at one time and this is a friendly group that will help you out.

I'd chime in but the OP wouldn't like what I'd have to say or he'd just ignore any council I'd have to offer.

Let's just say that I bang my head every time I read things like this.

    Hey welcome to the forum.

I'd firstly like to say that people on this forum love razors, The negative comments are a reflection of that. You have made a few serious mistakes but that should not stop you in the future. That king cutter needs to be send out if you want it to shave, Gssixgun really is your man for this and if any of us can make it shave it will be him.

Secondly don't give up on learning to hone. It's a process, and a learned skill. You pretty much always kill a razor or two when you start if you don't have a mentor to slap your hands. Go out and buy some cheap Chinese gold dollar razors. With those you can abuse them till you can make an edge work.

The process is simple, you check all of them for geometry. A little marker pen on the edge and just a few very light passes on the stone to see where is been abraded. You then ink up again and continue. If you work like this you will get to a stage fairly quickly where all of the pen on the edge is been removed at that point if you check the edge you will find it set, and you can start to move up the grits.

To any newb who wants to practice honing the cheap way: start with a worn vintage razor from ebay or any other fleamarket.
