I've said many times I have had to spend longer on some carbon steel razors than any stainless I have had. In general it may take a few passes more but technique and pressure is exactly the same as with any non stainless.
I think some of our pro honers will chime in and tell you there is no difference at all in honing stainless and carbon.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

ya if you got a carbon steel razor that is up there in the Rockwell Hardness scale it becomes hard to hone too. but it will hone the same way just might take a few more laps up and down the stone. Tc

Yeah something isn't right
Can we see a pic, these should be no different honing then any other DD, which honestly are some of the easiest to hone razor on the market

And everything came out very nicely in the end. Got a great shave this morning. I was just surprised that it took longer for me to get a bevel than normal. Usually two laps of circles and some heel-leading X-strokes gets it done. I also dont work to with much slurry on the Chosera 1K with carbon blades. Could have been i needed more slurry to get the job done in the regular amount of time. Mainly I was surprised with the lack of a defined scratch pattern after my normal bevel setting procedure

SS is known to be "Abrasion Resistant" rather than actually "Harder" so the difference in Scratch patterns is to be expected, I notice no discernible difference in honing them, myself..
A hard to hone razor happens every now and then, the bevel might have been just farther off, no telling, but alls well that shaves well hehehe
