    Default help me! cutting power problem!

    my TI seems to be cut more in certain point of the blade and cut less in other one..

    how i can "reset" this situation?

    i have only 6000 king stone and coticule yellow...

    Mark the bevel and hone for 5-10 strokes and check whether the marks are gone from the full length of the bevel on either side. If so: do your pyramids, if not continue on the 6000 or even lower grit hone till the bevel will pass the bevel marking test.

    That's how I do it. You can use a mike and diagnose the problem but eventually you'll have to do the above to get the razor sorted.

    thanks....how appear under microscope ? the black part should be to the same thickness along the entire blade?

    What black part? Tim Zowadi posted a number of pictures here of edges under the mike. Look at those and hope your bevel looks identical!

    If I understand your description of the problem correctly, you're saying the stone hones the blade differently along various parts of the edge. If that's true, you've got a heat treat problem or a warping problem (which is also a heat treat problem). You can compensate somewhat for a warping problem. You can't compensate for a heat treat problem.

    Or do you mean... the bevel is uneven...wide in some places and narrow in others?

    yes! the final part of the blade that i see under a microscope as BLACK seems to be that not have the same thickness ....
