Thanked: 2209You can achieve a very wickedly sharp edge with just the Norton 8K. A finishing stone is not necessary.
If the razor s still not as sharp as you want it then go back to a
3/5-10 ( between 5-10 laps)
1/5-10
1/5-10
Then finish up as Alan suggests with just the 8K side
What your looking for is a discernible change on the sharpness of the edge. Use your sharpness tests frequently.Last edited by randydance062449; 02-19-2008 at 10:49 AM.

I don't really have any new information to add just encouragement.
I am a die hard fan of the Swaty as a fine finisher though I always shave test before using it to get an idea what the razor still needs. Once, and only once (so far), have I really hit the razor G-spot off my 8000 and this is one of the smoothest most durable edges I have ever gotten. Keep at it the 8000 is capable of an incredible edge, one I will be working harder for in the future.
