I won't pretend to be an expert but that never stopped me from offering my opinion so ..... I think you could give it a try. The Ch12k is known to be a hard stone, probably harder than your coticule. If you do get a coticule slurry stone in the future try it both ways and see which works best for you.
You can also get a credit card sized 325 diamond plate and use it without fear of the grit from the plate mixing with your slurry. Not long ago I used a bbw slurry stone on a yellow coticule and was surprised to see a lot of purple slurry. IOW, the slurry seemed to come more from the slurry stone than from the coticule.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
