I won't pretend to be an expert but that never stopped me from offering my opinion so ..... I think you could give it a try. The Ch12k is known to be a hard stone, probably harder than your coticule. If you do get a coticule slurry stone in the future try it both ways and see which works best for you.

You can also get a credit card sized 325 diamond plate and use it without fear of the grit from the plate mixing with your slurry. Not long ago I used a bbw slurry stone on a yellow coticule and was surprised to see a lot of purple slurry. IOW, the slurry seemed to come more from the slurry stone than from the coticule.
