Beats me...I just don't see why it would smell like preservative...maybe it's made in the same factory where they preserve little things for biology class

Thanked: 1587Formaldehyde kills most bacteria (and fungi??) doesn't it? Maybe someone decided to give your hone a dip to be on the safe side before sending it?
