    You can use a narrow hone. Some barber's hones will allow for warp but they take forever to cut. But I also hate to ask, is your hone flat? If the hone isn't flat it will make you talk to yourself and frustrate you to no end.

    It's a dmt, so I hope it's flat. That's really the reason I asked since I can't do the rocking motion on a 4" hone. The other part of my problem is that it doesn't touch in the middle on one side.

    I've heard that a half-inch to one inch hone with slightly rounded/chamfered edges is the way to go with a warped razor. Of course this isn't an option on a DMT.

    I tried that with a warped knife on a slipstone (approx. 600 grit) and a Swaty with a single 1/4" chamfered edge and got very good results.
