    I have pondered this a bit and have come to the following conclusions:

    1. Probably some pastes would go a long way to getting me over the edge to a truly sharp, what I would consider, shave ready razor.

    2. I might want to look into some alternatives to the Norton 4/8K

    3. There are far better uses for virgins than sacrifices.

    Did I mention how much I love this forum? You guys are all great and it's nice to meet some people with a f**king sense of humor who are also helpful

    I did not see any discussion of whether you had actually flattened your Norton. This is critical.
    Soak your Norton first and flatten using a DMT-8C or something similar. I would still suggest using some diamond paste... or at least it works for me.
