You are absolutely right. I was honing a magnetized blade this morning, and used the norton. I was surprised at how it was no longer flat after what I thought was light use over the past week.
And yes, the results were great, and much more controllable than the DMT 8EE, IMO. I also liked how you can pyramid the 8000 with the yellow coticule like Lynn suggested - very effective. I think I will be playing around with the norton a lot more.

Thanked: 150fwiw I just sold my norton. Ever since I got the D8EE I really hadn't touched the Norton, so I passed it on to a guy who will be using it. (And because I needed to make room for what will likely be the head honcho of my finishing stones)
The D8EE could be used in a pyramid fashion the same way the norton could be, no?
