I had a little sun come through and got a couple of shots. The one on the left I got today. The other one was an ebay score about a week or two ago. There are no stamps or markings on either one. What appears to be cracks on the narrow one I believe are slivers of blue rock. It's completely smooth.

The narrow one is 5 3/16" by 1 1/4" and a little over 5/8" thick. The larger one is a little over 4" by 2" and 7/8" thick. Obviously, they'll need a big brother when I can afford it. These are only slurry stones compared to "John Holmes," but I can't complain.

They look nice though, and there is nothing like a bit of age?
I'm trying to find someone local to check out Mr Holmes though, I don't value my own opinion on rocks yet. It is fun to run a blade for the whole distance on him, I think I might cause a bit of static on him one day

I think it would be pretty difficult to assess Mr. Holme's value beyond what some would be willing to pay for a stone that size. I doubt there are many like it.

Hi, no, I'm not concerned what he is worth really. I just would like a 2nd opinion on him as a hone.
I know he is worth more than I paid for him, this is probably true for just about every good hone we (razor fiends) find.
I'd would just like someone else to grind a bit of steel on him and comment.

Well, I don't want to be stereotypical here, but I predict Mr Holmes will have a stellar career in the razor porn industry, which will later be immortalised in the mainstream film industry by Marky Mark sporting a prosthetic hone.

You NEED anonimity, the way you keep pushing that rock around!
