For the first several months of my straight shavin' adventures, I used a Brasso loaded canvas strop to maintain my edges.

Nowadays I use coticules and a Nakayama and Chrome Ox when necessary. BUT it's not nearly as fun (or snooty) as all those expensive stones.

I still think the Brasso gave smooth shavers, I can't seem to leave well enough alone.
