I mean i wasn't too bright and after rinsing off my hones, left the DMT in the sink to soak and took the C12K out to dry off
I assume the rust is from some built up steel that was left on the hone and will probably come right off with minimal work

Thanked: 278I thought it might be useful to post a picture of mine as a reference point. This is my DMT8E (1200) after lapping my Norton 4/8K. I was using water and washing-up liquid and rinsing off regularly, but didn't do it under the tap. It still hones, but I suspect it's a bit smoother and slower than it's meant to be

That's what mine is looking like, except the bits of shiner spots along your edges are not as pronounced as they are on mine. Hope I haven't killed it.
