    sure you can but use constantly under running water.it will leave scratches don't worry about it a lot.use pencil mark to find out when you done with lapping.if you don't like scratches on your hone after dmt use 400-800 sanding paper to take scratches out.

    Anyone know any more about these hones (Swift & Sure)? OP, did this stone turn out to be any good?

    Since no one replied and I had my first shave after using this hone, I'll answer the question myself: this hone is fantastic.
