    Exclamation Can anyone help me?

I just purchased a vintage barber hone on eBay...however I'm not sure if the stone needs to be wet or what to use on it...can anyone help me with this? It is a Quick & Easy Razor Hone w/ the box. The item number is 310136009311. Thanks for the help in advance!

Yes, go with water, or even lather.

A barber hone typically is a finishing hone that is used with Lather or a spray of water. Little to no pressure need be exerted.

Did anyone else notice to SRD logo on the stone?

Anything that you have read about Swatys applies to the Quick & Easy hone. They are quite similar. I'd recommend lather rather than water on the hone because water doesn't soak into the hone, instead it just sits on top and gets pushed off the hone by the blade. A very thin lather works much better than water.

Well, nowadays I'm pretty sure you can consider SRD stands for the major sponsor of this forum. Back in the days of your hone, SRD stood for S. R. Droescher, a company that imported and made hones and razors.

In my opinion, a more diluted lather works better.
