I've done a ton of these and they are different than yours Glen. These are a much heavier stiffer blade than the old 14's. The main thing really is to get the bevel set right on these. Without that, you will be back to the hone several times. I would recommend 40 circles on each side on the 1K followed by 10-15 X strokes. Then hit your 4K for 15 strokes and see if it shaves arm hair. If not, 10 more strokes until it does. Then you should be OK to hit the 8K for 10-15 strokes. 10 strokes on your Kitayama and then 10 strokes on the .5 of your choice. These blades can be stubborn.

I'd like to see if you can go through the Coticule routine and see if it can come to life for you in one time like the video. That would be cool.

I have rehoned from 4k 8k bbw then yellow plain water and as usaul shave is very smooth no pulling but does'nt give me a close shave i finish my neck area of with on e of my other razors it just does'nt seem to grab those awkward wiskers like under my nose i just nick in there and my other razors you can hear the razor grab them i'm now wondering if the edge is to smooth and not got enough grip or maybe not quite sharp enough or over honed slightly its not uncomfortable tpt feel good the only one thing i carn't get this razot to pass hht its the only razor i own that does'nt. it is quite a heavy razor and its harder to keep pressure light i 'm honing with slight roll because it has a slight bow in the blade or smile. I'm thinking of going back to 1200 for twenty laps and then just 154k and 15 8k and then shave of the 8k and see if it has more grip in the edge.

interesting i've just done 30 light laps on the 1200 as usaul tnt realy drags tpt exallant.I though i'd do quik shave down one cheek not much stubble only 12 hours worth but razor actuly shaves and did'nt feel rough and seemed to grab even a tiny bit of stubble instead of gliding over it i will just hit 4k and 8k not to many strokes and see tomorrow i'm just wondering if some razors don't work well with certain hones maybe my belgiums smooth the edge out too much i don't no any one else have any ideas or came a cross this before.
