Thanked: 124Woodcraft is still selling their DMT boxed set, you might want to consider getting that. It has a 600, 1200 and 8000 for less money then two of those hones cost individually--less then just one of them at alot of places online, it seems. If you don't like them you could just resell them for about the same price, maybe even more when woodcraft eventually runs out. I have this set and like it alot.

Thanked: 4942You could try the Norton 220 which is really a fast cut, but definitely will show the abrasion. The Naniwa 220 is not quite as fast a cut and a little less on the scratch side, but still pretty effective. I use it a lot except for big chips. The DMT coarse and extra coarse are pretty quick cutters as well. Be careful with all these stones as they will definitely remove some metal.
