    What I am saying is I do sometimes but I would not say it is my style on razors still I am still trying to see what works best. I came to this site to learn about sharpening RAZORS from the best. I like nukes. that would be fun.

    I'm a honing newbie (3 razors under my belt). As I'm still learning what to feel for on the TPT, I found the dull-the-razor-on-the-glass a nice simple benchmark to determine if I have a bevel reset correctly (esp. coming off a razor previously honed with tape that has a secondary bevel).

    I can see that if you have a good sense of the TPT, it would not be necessary. Anyway, it worked for me,
