Here is another video of Lynn honing at a recent get together. I can't recall off the top of my head if he is doing the 45 degree thing on any of it but he does demonstrate the circles and on up through that.

The photo may be deceptive. The spine and blade are perfectly flat in the pic.

Also, your link doesn't go to a Lynn video; it goes to a thread about "getting to 11" with a hone. No vids in that thread.
