This is the 7/8 abalone shell bergam carbon damask. It is very large but has amazing patternon the blade and after watching the dvd of mastro making these razors i can see why they cost so much but they are worth it.

I bought a similar razor in June.

But I've never used it. I've not touched it. I've not even seen it in real life.

I persuaded my wife that this was the 40th birthday present I wanted. She said fine, but on one condition: I do not see it until my birthday. So now I'm still going through the 7-month wait.

Seeing your bergamo damask blade Gary is killing me even more!!

I restrict my SRP surfing to general, newbie, and honing, and I AVOID the razor subforum lest I be tempted (again... I already have 1 Livi).... gee, thanks Gary...

    But seriously, beautiful razor!

Great razors Gary and majurey. I've got one too and it is outstanding to shave with or to just admire.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
