You probably will need to expand your stone collection a bit so you can get better/smoother edges which will shave you more comfortably.
A very economical bevel setting stone - DMT 1.2k . This is a diamond stone that will wear very very slowly and will work great for many years.
10k stone, Naniwa makes the Superstone series which is great and works really well with razors.
Finally you need CrO strop, that can be made with balsa wood from your local hardware store.
After the CrO strop you go to leather strop and you will have much smoother shave than coming off 4/8k stone.Stefan
