See that's what I'm not sure about. If that's the box, it's really unfortunate, because the color is right in the range of coticule colors.
I sent the seller a message asking. It's kinda too late now, but I'd like to know anyways. Perhaps I can work something out with him if it isn't what I thought it was.
Anyone else have any guesses?

Uh oh. Got a seller response and the stone is black according to the seller.
The picture was indeed of the box.

Luckily, I haven't made a payment yet
I offered to give him about 10 bucks for time, listing and relisting fees. If he takes me up on it, then good. If he doesn't, I guess I'll have to deal with one negative feedback on my ebay account. It is about 80 dollars after all.

In the USA a seller cannot give a buyer a negative. I would email the fellow and tell him that the listing was incorrect if the stone is totally dark. You might send him a link to Ardennes coticule website and explain that a coticule is yellow. Unless he is a jerk he will understand that it is his mistake and poorly focused pictures that caused the misunderstanding.

Thanks for the tips. The seller was indeed a very decent seller and researched the topic after I mentioned that coticules are actually yellow. He canceled the transaction for me. Good thing I asked last minute on that one.
Thanks to all who made me uncertain of thisYou saved me 80 bucks

Thanked: 1212It does not look like a BBW to me. But it's hard to go by such a hazy picture. Maybe some sort of Thuringian?
Fingers crossed indeed.
