Well I've got about 40 or so razors that I've honed but I would never call myself any expert there's always one out there that will challenge the best.

I decided to give myself the honemeister category simply because you did not specify a time limit for the honing. So far I managed to hone all the razors that came my way (a dozen or so) and they were all different. From 5/8 full holow to 7/8 hollow to 6/8 hollow (almost wedge), thick blades as well as very flexible thin ones.

I noticed that if I persist long enough I eventually start to feel what honing works on a particular razor. Some of the ones I honed took a while to get the full edge to respond to honing. Sometimes it takes a couple of sessions for a particularly difficult razor. I get fed-up and put it away for a day or two before resuming.

With that in mind I feel confident that I can get any blade shave sharp given enough time. Of course this is limited by the steel of the blade so the statement should be any blade that can possibly get sharp.

I rated mysef at 3/4 because I am only happy with perfection. The SRP TI #39 is an interesting twist as was the first wedge I worked at, so there's got to be something else out there that will be a little tricky as well.

I think the question should be, "How many different razors HAVE you honed to a shaving edge?" We don't ask people if the think they could perform a surgery, we ask for their credentials.

I've done about 60 now, including a few with sizeable chips, uneven edges and tapered edges. I've ruined a few cheap razors in the process, but I'm starting to believe I can put a keen edge on any decent razor.

One of the important things for me was getting and learning to use a sufficient collection (broad range of grits) of stones, especialy at the coarser grits. I've done the most damage with the coarse grits.

I think you're being modest. At that rate you would have made 5,000 in well under 5 years. I think you've been doing it a little longer than that.
