    Default Honing help (pics)

I received this razor a few days ago. It appears to have had some sort of accident with a dremel or something along those lines. How would something like this be repaired? I have a 1k,4,5,8,12 k stones. Should I put two or three layers of tape one the spine and have at it on the 1 k till its an even bevel again? its located on the front third of the blade and looks like a little frown.

I would suggest resetting the bevel, but there are wiser ones here than I. Listen to them. Good luck

when I purchased it the seller asked/informed me "do you have a finishing hone?
From what I remember.... I think it's pretty good but not shave ready. Shouldn't take much to get the razor ready." So no I havent shaved with it as of yet. I would like to add it was not advertised as shave ready either.

If you haven't shave tested it yet, I'd say give it a shave test, and then, based on how it feels, go from there. No sense in trying to solve a problem before you diagnose it, right?

The only thing that matters in this situation is if the edge is bad and will shave or not. I would shave with it, see how it is, if you like it keep it, if not hone it. If you don't have honing experience and haven't give your razors shave ready edges yourself PLEASE just send it out until you're more experienced with razors.
