If you had a bit of tugging, Might I suggest giving 10 more laps on Cro-Ox, followed by a TON of laps on the plain strop?

I know the general consensus is that strops aren't at all abrasive, But I've always noticed a SERIOUS improvement in the blade (to a point) with constant stropping... Once I finish honing I go to a pasted strop (.5 micron Diamond spray on wool felt). After that I hit the strops... I've noticed that after 50 fabric passes and 50-60 leather passes (generally horsehide) I can squeeze by the HHT (which is a useful test when implemented correctly... Just not a "be all, end all" test) however, if I give it another 100 on the horsehide... PING! The hairs just jump away...

Before you try rehoning, or touchups, or any of that, just do a LOT of stropping... If that fixes it, you save steel, if it doesn't fix it... Well, you were planning on a stone touchup anyways, so nothing lost but for a few minutes...

    Just my two cents.

    Congrats on the first hone!
