Actually just to tell you how tough this steel is I did 50 passes on CrO on my bench strop and it toned down the harshness very very slightly. I estimate it will take at least 200 passes on the CrO it get it right. Tell me any razor you would ever dare use anything even close to that in passes.

    Default The Meaning is Obvious

It's telling you that you need to take out a 2nd Mortgage and buy a few more stones! What good is a house if you can't have a good shave?

Just to **** it off, rather than try to placate it w/ some stone from France, either something from it's German nemesis (escher), or from the opposite side of the world (Jnat) - just to show it who's boss. Don't take any guff from that bad boy.

I'm certain there will be much agreement to this. 'Spoke w/ a member today that had $1400 or so in a jnat. I may not be able to do the same, but I'm not convinced he has erred. 'Some nice edges. I'll shave w/ one of them in a couple wks.

Should the Eschers and Jnat's not consume all available house equity, perhaps a few Zowada, Livi, Harner, Williams blades? And, of course 24 carat razor stands that would be fitting of such hardware. It's only right.

    Your path is clear.

Yes I had this dream last night ............
Considering this was seven years ago when you were greener than the honer you are today, why not give it a total bevel set to finish?

More importantly lay off the heavy food before bedtime so your dreams will be less violent

Sorry, I was never much good at that morals and morality stuff, but I do have a question about diamond/felt -- why does .25 feel harsh? I've got a .25 felt strop/block, and I use it when I have to, but I'm reluctant to use it, it does feel harsh. Why?

You'll probably have to ask one of the heavy hitters around here that question.

I would guess, in general, Diamond being so hard and fast cutting coupled with the type of cutting edge it presents to the steel and the particle size yield that result. But this is only a guess.

As far as redoing the edge now from beginning to end it's unnecessary because the edge is as sharp as it needs to be it's just a matter of working on the smoothness which about 250 strokes on CrO tamed very nicely.

If I ever had to do a bevel job on that razor it still would not be an easy job even with better skills and more hones it's just a miserable razor to work on. I'd rather redo a bevel on a Kamisori any day of the week.

If anyone out there has done a bevel job on one of these things chime in I'd love to hear your experience.
