I would double check at lee valley the grit of the norton hones as I remember they didn't have the grits above 4000k.
If you can wait until the new year I can let you try my nortons 1k, 4k/8k, DMT 1200,
Naniwa 5k, 8k
I also have 3 Coti/BBW, a swaty, spyderco ultra fine, and a Thuringian
You could try out a bunch of different hones and see what you like before buying. If you cant wait until after the holidays you could stop by tomorrow. I have hones if you would like to try them out, as long as you realize I may not be able to answer a lot of questions about honing as I am new to this as well. But I do have Holli4priating's number and he knows a lot. Anyway PM me if you would like to stop by I live in Scarborough.
