new acronym proposal? "fresh from the hone" -- FFTH
I've been reading several people report that when the razor is 'fresh from the hone' (FFTH), the first couple shaves aren't great, but get better, then peak, and finally decline in comfort after so many more shaves.
This has also been my (limited) experience. Is this a consensus?
If so, I suggest we call this the "FFTH effect", or something so it's easy to reference, without having to go through the detailed explanation every time.
Cheers,
E
PS - It's highly likely that I've been working for a company that loves acronyms for too long, and I've been successfully assimilated!

I'm all for jargon and acronyms (makes me sound smart ), but, I think we better start building a glossary.
First time I saw the acronym I only saw the FFT part and thought "Fast Fourier Transform"... man I'm a geek :\

Some razors due mellow out after a few shaves. Then I have had some that give the best shave ever FFTH.

Nirvana for me will be the day I can get that perfect shave with a newly stopped razor FFTH. I've been able to get a consistently good shave and keep my razors in good shape so far, but they've all had to go through about 2 shaves before becoming more comfortable. I must still be doing something wrong with the honing, but I think I'm getting closer...

I hate acronyms. Use it, but don't ask me to answer every newbie that pops the question: "uhm, I'm sorry, but what does FFHT, BBS, RAD and all that other c**p mean??"
And to quote Mr. Douglas Adams: "WWW is the only acronym I know of which takes longer time to pronounce than the words it stands for."

in dutch we pronounce it "way way way" I never got that in English anyway...."dubbelyoudubbelyoudybbelyou". I mean just look at the difference!
"dubbelyoudubbelyoudybbelyou"
"waywayway"
I like dutch
Anyway, I'm against acronyms. The only one I've liked so far is: SWMBO simply because it made me laught when I found out that it meant "She Who Must Be Obeyed".
