Thanked: 1263Public Thank You to Glen (gssixgun)
I just wanted to give a shout out to Glen and a huge thankyou.
I mentioned in one of the threads that I honed my own razors but had never had a proffessionally honed razor to compare to..Glen graciously offered to hone one up for me so that I'd know for sure what it should be like..an offer I could not refuse I just got the razor back today and wow..all I can say is smooth! The razor was the Ern Ator that Glen filmed his video on the shaptons with. My razors that I honed were sharp but the level of sharp and comfortable that Glen pushed this razor to is unparraleled. Thanks again Glen! I owe you one

In all of my dealings with Glen, I can only describe him as being an Old School Gentleman, and everything that means.

Thanked: 267You were a wise man to accept such a offer by Glen. It is very revealing when you get a razor that is properly honed and polished. The trouble is you will be buying stuff to try to duplicate it! So I don't know if you should thank him just yet!
Later,
Richard

Thanked: 4942A really great point in addition to Glen's skill is being made here. I honed a razor once for a Barber who advised that now he really knows what sharp is. Being able to experience the difference can be dramatic and if you're into honing this experience will rev up your engine.
Way to be Glenmeistah!!!

++1, Glen rescaled a Kissing Cranes for me and honed it to perfection. More than a year and many shaves later ain't even needed a touch up and the scales are beauteous.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
