Just for the heck of it I just whipped some up to refresh my memory. I was at work some time ago with a coticule and no slurry stone with me. I had a separate hunk of bbw though so used it.

Now what surprised me was the color of he slurry was the purple, not the lighter yellow coticule. The stuff I just generated was the same. Maybe a touch lighter purple but the bbw definitely dominated the mix.

That surprised me since I thought that the slurry coming off of the hone would be at least equal to if not more than that coming off of the small slurry stone. Just an interesting.... to me aside since I guess it is the same no matter if it is a coticule, j-nat, Escher or whatever ? Probably doesn't make a dimes worth of difference in the final outcome.
