    It's great to see it up against another thing, it's pretty big. Do you use a feltpad for everyday use, why not leather?

    Sorry, I should have been more clear. For everyday stropping, I do about 25 laps on the felt pad, then about 30 laps on leather.

    A cheap glass cutting board , from Wal Mart (less than $5.00) . Some rubber shelf liner , and a pump bottle full of water . I also use the glass for lapping my hones with wet/dry paper .

    Norton 220/1k , 4k/8k , Shapton 15k , and my little Nakayama Asagi . These hones have served me well , and are all I need to get the job done right .
