Man, what a load of hooey going on around here. You know there's that old saying about the answer being so clear and obvious that no one can recognize it.

It just seems to my pea brain that there's a reason its called a wedge which to me is just a piece of metal that tapers to a, a ,a wedge which has no other contour to it otherwise it wouldn't be a, a , wedge.

You know when you think about it a wedge is nothing more than a miniature axe. And no I don't have a picture of one. I actually only have one wedge and thats a DD Satin wedge and its not really a true traditional wedge but it does have a concave grind of sorts to it. But some of the big W&Bs I've seen do not appear to have that concave appearance to it. My two framebacks though have no concave geometry to the edges just perfectly flat blades like a razor blade.

Question “single concave wedge grind” ????

I have read through this post and not found my Answer (did get a headache though) Could someone explain the “single concave wedge grind” it sounds like 4 razors I have and I have been trying to think of a description to ask SRP members about them. 3 are no name Sheffield Razors and the latest one I have is a very nice 6/8” Joseph Rodgers one. If these are in fact the type described what is the advantage of this type of grind?
