Thanked: 1936You guys are shaving too much hair. It only takes a little touch to the hair, not a swath....I keep a perpetual bald spot at the crook of my left arm...but that's really it.

Thank you and God Bless, Scott

I worked in the nukes for Bechtel before there were QCs and before the Wackenhut guards. Just drive into the construction parking lot and walk in back in those days. The QCs slow production down so much that having them isn't worth it. Just another contractor to soak up the $. Speaking of schedule 80, here is a "40 hour buckle" from the old days at Turkey Point.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

NICE!!! some stainless tubing and twisted tig wire makes for some good buckles!!!!.... Man the QC's are outta there minds on the Chevron off shore oil rigs I work on!!! they inspect tacks now... Tacks!! are you kidding me!! after they look at em I pretty much grind them out. Now we have TSA back ground checks to work out there its all way outta hand!... I really want out of oilfield construction bad but welder pay is insane now I hardly have to go to work for a week to earn a months wage

Thanked: 15Too funny! When I first started honing, I was the same way. I would constantly get asked "dude, what the hell happened to your arm hair" Now, I pretty much just check for the bevel set, then once again after finishing, then it's off to shave test it. Though I will admit to still being amazed when it's done just right and going overboard watching the hair jump off my arm and leaving me with random bald spots!
