this will be the worse thing to do to newbie.
They will get sharpest edge with uncomfortable shave.
    Never do this .
This is what i think and how i do handle situation similar to this.
The most important in honing straight razor is to know what is the proper edge looks like and acts ,shaves.
Some edges will satisfy your customers some don't. there is no way you or someones else could make everyone happy.
People are different and their choose ,preferences differ too.
what honer can do is to say i did get the proper edge from the blade. More i will try to make finer edges their holding ability will go down.
Now some people will understand some don't .
Lets say Not every blade will shave same as DD WONDEREDGE .
if owner sends you blade lower quality and asks let that blade shave as TI's ? it won't happen.
There is another cases which newbies(most common) have problem with technique(angles, preparation,so on.)
In this case you can ask the person try resolve that issues and see what happens.
this conversation could go on on.
Main idea learn to get maximum comfortable shave giving edge from the straight razor.( remember in many cases it may be not you but blade)
As soon as you get that level you or anyone else should be fine.
    hope this helps.

Very much agree. You have to have realistic expectations from the individual blade. Not all blades will be durable with laser sharp edges.
Comfort, sharpness & shaving skill are a bit of a juggling act
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Sham, and Oz, Thank you again!

I had the pleasure to meet one member today that thought keenness wasn't there. 'A pleasure to meet and talk. He gave me a couple more to hone, and I send a Genco Fluid steel with him to see if that (more keen edge) was more pleasing. That way, I can aim for that feel with the two blades.

Keeping my head down, determined to learn. Blade 120 is almost finished, with 14 more backed up behind it. If hard work and practice will make me better at this, it's going to happen. 'Very much appreciate your kind help.
