Yeah, it's very pricey. I wouldn't send it regular. I'd want it insured which means it has to be registered.

I just got my Frankonian stone yesterday. The wait was brutal.I took an already sharp razor that had a edge that was kind of rough because it was finished on diamond spray and did somewhere between 200-300 strokes with water on the Frankonian stone. The shave this morning was silky smooth and with absolutely zero razor burn.
This stone was expensive but after the shave this morning, the cost did not matter.

Wow that is alot of strokes - more than a Translucent Arkansas - a small one at that. But glad to hear of your successful shave. Personally I'd go a little crazy (ier) after sitting there with that many light strokes on a finisher, but different strokes for different folks!

What was the last stone in your progression before the Crox and Frankonian? Perhaps if you'd taken it to a higher grit or finer stone before hand, you may have required considerably fewer strokes on the Frankonian. As per Olivia's recommendation, the only vendor of this somewhat controversial stone, and equally controversial verbatim thereof, it is 'to be used after the Escher...' If this is true (to your sample at least, nothwithstanding the experiences of some highly experienced hone meisters here amongst our community) then the edge should be at its very finest.

Do you have pics? Hone porn always goes appreciated, but I am interested to see if there are visual differences amongst samples.

I wanted to do alot of strokes to really max out the edge on the razor. The next time I use the stone I will experiment with less strokes to try to see actually how many I have to do.I honed the razor on a LPB coticule and then we straight to the Frankonian stone.
I will take a picture tonight and post tomorrow.
