Thanked: 3795Honemeister Review Blog
Someone has decided to establish a BLOG purporting to review the quality of work of established honemeisters. I wonder if anyone can detect any ulterior motive behind this blog?

Thanked: 1371Most blogs usually have a first entry that says "Hi, I'm xyz and this is my blog. Here's some stuff about me and why I made this blog."
At the bare minimum the "about me" contains that information.
In this case xyz isn't even identified...Last edited by HNSB; 06-12-2011 at 08:49 AM.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I may be a cynic, but that sure looks like and "ad" for the "asharperrazor.com" honing service, rather than an honest blog for sure. Weak.

asharperrazor is new, but much cheaper than the others, the edge is sharper and smoother, and the turn around time is faster too! The blades are even sharper than a Feather blade! Oh, I forgot that the homepage is much nicer and more modern! (who cares about the homepage if the service is good, btw?) Misterious "Master Lee" (who is master lee?) is their honer, who has been honing razors for decades, but we never heard of him until now.
The guy is really thinking that we are that stupid we will believe all this stuff, and think that the blog is not written by the same guy who runs asharperrazor?

"The problem with straight razors is that there is a no central source for information on honemeisters. So, I figured I would put my hard earned money and my face up to the challenge"
Copyed from the blog. This translates to:
The problem with straight razors is that there is a no central source where asharperrazor is praised like hell. So, I figured I would put my hard earned money and make a blog praising my sharpening services, so I get more customers, because no one knows me, and I am not present at any of the shaving sites for a reason.

Thanked: 993Hmmm, from what I have read, I agree with HNSB.
Blogger's are usually very proud of their writing, and their ability to report and rally. This blogger is not so proud. It feels as if they are concerned with repercussions should they be found out.
For someone who speaks of their like for openness and transparency from "A Sharper Razor", they sure haven't given it to their readers.

Thanked: 2591What do we know, he has a magical 330mate 50k stone. The razors get super sharp and smooth just by proximity effects.
